The RW Takeaway: The Bondi 7 is an incredibly soft shoe that offers a sense of cloud while running.
- Full length EVA foam that provides maximum cushioning
- Lower stack height and displacement than previous models
- New memory foam heel collar
Hoka One One lightweight shoes, like Rincons, challenged our perception of the brand. But its maximalist reputation is preserved with models like the Bondi 7, a shoe that does not disappoint with its generously padded midsole. The thick, full-length EVA sheet creates the feeling of “running in the clouds,” said a tester.
For many of our testers and for me, Bondi is the ideal shoe for total comfort during the race. It’s not for speed work – tennis is even heavier than its predecessor – but it’s the perfect excuse for runners to retreat and run at a pace of recovery. For those who prefer highly padded sports shoes, the 7 is a reliable shoe with maximum cushioning for long runs and building bases for marathons. Branded Shoes
“This is a really great training shoe for those who love the cushion,” said one of the testers. “At the moment, I’m training for my next marathon, so trying on these sneakers was a dream while increasing my mileage.”
Low stack heights and travel
Bondi 7 has a low displacement compared to previous models, which vary between 7 mm and 10 mm. Despite shoes with Hoka’s meta-rocker technology (curved geometry for smoother heel-toe transitions), I felt that the deadlift required more effort due to the 4 mm drop. Best Sneakers
The height of the 27 mm forefoot stack (29 mm, for men) is high compared to the average trainer, who is between 21 mm and 23 mm. The testers commented on the height of the stack, noting how it slightly affects stability.
“The height of the shoe is still quite intimidating,” said one. “I turned my ankle a few times. Nothing serious, but a little worrying. ” Shoes And Sneakers
In addition to maximum cushioning underfoot, the shoe offers softness around with an updated heel collar. The new memory foam necklace helps protect the foot and wraps the Achilles with soft cushioning like a pillow.
The shoe’s designed mesh also offered comfort, but caused overheating. “Bondi’s walls are soft and thick, great for additional cushioning, but not great for letting heat escape,” said a tester. Kacamata Rayban
