Best Running Shoes For 2019 (Part 14)

29. Nike Zoom Fly 3
Price: £ 139.95

With a much cheaper price and the same carbon fiber plate as the Next% we are a big fan of the Zoom Fly 3 for fast road kilometers. The reagent sole is padded and responsive, and the arch band relieves your tension when you cover the kilometers. Developed as a shoe in which you can train and race (unlike the Next%). The rubber on the forefoot and heel gives this shoe a degree of durability. Finally, the transparent upper contours comfortably take care of your foot and give these shoes and sneakers a quick feel and finish.

30. Hoka One One Bondi 6
Price: £ 124.99
Weight: 289 g (M), 215 g (W)
Heel / Toe Drop: 10 mm, (M) 8 mm (B)

This was the most cushioned shoe in the test (in the forefoot and heel) that scored 98/100 for softness, but also the most inflexible (along with the Hoka Arahi 3 bottom right) and 1/100 for the ease with which it felt bog. The testers loved the fit and versatility (it’s good as a door-to-lane model), but said the landing was too spongy and too stiff through the toes.

31. Under Armour HOVR Infinite
Price: £ 119.99
Weight: 307 g (M), 245 g (W)
Heel / Toe Drop: 10 mm (M), 9 mm (B)

This shoe was almost a contender for an award, which is a sign of how well Under Armor – a brand not yet known for its running shoes – did here. According to UA, the goal was to create a shoe that offers cushioning, bounce, durability, and efficiency. Three of the four were successful, and the testers loved the ride, which felt soft and unobtrusive.

The downside is that it is only really suitable for longer, even runs, as the lack of firmness when jumping means that it does not work for you when trying to reach speed.

The fit is excellent, lies close to the midfoot and offers enough space to spread the toes in the forefoot. Unfortunately, the digital sensors in the heel for recording running metrics such as pace and distance had problems pairing with the associated app and providing accurate data. There is still work to be done here – but UA gets full marks if she tries something else.
