Shoes are one of the most common item of footwear used by humans to protect and comfort their feet. They are used by everyone regardless of their ages and sexes. In fact, a person wears shoes and sneakers his entire life right from the time he learns how to walk. There is another term for shoe which is sneaker confusing many as sneakers look exactly like shoes. It becomes very hard for people to differentiate between athletic shoes or running shoes and sneakers when they go to market to buy these accessories for the purpose of athletics.

Despite sneaker serves the same purpose as shoes, there are differences between the two.

Most people make use of these shoes that are easy to clean and maintain as the only thing needed to clean them is a wet piece of cloth. The sole of these shoes is made from polyurethane which is a flexible material and carries the full impact of barriers on the roads. For those who train or run on hard grounds, it is best to wear shoes with hard soles because they are very durable. Soft soles are good to use for daily as they provide much comfort while walking around.

People refer to all kinds of shoes with rubber soles as sneakers even though it is not right. The reason these shoes got their name was because the sneakers made very little noise while walking due to their rubber soles. It is also possible to sneak up to someone else while wearing these and hence the name, sneakers. And, sneaker is a term used mainly in North America, while in England and Australia, the term for similar shoes is called joggers and trainers.
